Los Jameos del Agua are considered one of the three jewels in the crown of Lanzarote, together with Cueva de los Verdes (with which it shares a volcanic tube) and the Timanfaya National Park (the island's volcano par excellence), a place where man's ingenuity and imagination embrace nature.
Both the Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes, in Lanzarote, belong to the same volcanic tube, erupted by the Corona Volcano, through which lava flowed some 4000 years ago. It has a length of more than 6 kilometres and belongs to La Corona Natural Monument, which was designed as a site of Scientific Interest. It is impossible not to be amazed by the creativity of this brilliant architect in the building of this work.
This masterpiece by César Manrique brings together nature and art in a perfect combination that respects the environment and prepares it for your enjoyment. This was the first Art and Culture Centre created in Lanzarote by the artist and one of the most visited every day.
Visiting Jameos del Agua is to travel to the past, is to know in depth Lanzarote's land, its history, its evolution. From the first volcanic eruptions to the present history, all of this by the hand of the genius Manrique who left his essence all over the island in several of his works.
In the lake that is located in the cave, are located a species of White Crabs or Albino Crabs, unique in the planet.

Tickets
To access the Jameos del Agua and enjoy this work by the master César Manrique, an entrance ticket is required. The general rates vary depending on the schedule and the residence of the visitors. Here is a list of prices:
Non-residents:
- Adult: 10 €
- Child: 5 €
Residents:
- Adult: 8 €
- Child: 4 €
Residents in Lanzarote: 2 €
From 15:00h to 19:00h there is a discount, 20% cheaper.
The opening hours for the Jameos del Agua are from 10:00h to 18:30h everyday.
Inside you will find all the facilities you need, such as a cafeteria where you can take a short break while enjoying the artistic atmosphere, a shop selling souvenirs and typical local products and a restaurant where you can taste the best flavours of the island.
